On May 30 of 2024, by the decision of the Government, the project of identification and registration of small ruminants was approved, which will start in January 2025.
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia is carrying out awareness visits in the regions of the Republic of Armenia in order to present the project for the identification and registration of small ruminants and the implementation schedule of the project’s activities. The CARD Foundation also participates in awareness visits.
The project is planned to start in 2025, during which around 1 million small ruminants will be numbered and counted, and in 2026 – 700 thousand small ruminants.
The small ruminants identification and registration project will be implemented with the financing of the RA government by the RA Ministry of Economy “Center of Agricultural Services” SNCO. The project will be supported by the Austrian Development Agency through the CARD Foundation.
