The mission of the delegation of the Austrian Poultry Federation in Armenia: Presentation of the System and Edges of Cooperation

From July 1st to 5th, the president of the Austrian Poultry Federation, Markus Lukas, and the general director, Michael Wurzer, arrived in Armenia.

During the visit, they presented the experience of the Austrian poultry system, met with the responsible persons of the RA departments and visited local poultry farms. A workshop entitled “Presentation of the Austrian Poultry System” was also organized.

The workshop was attended by Nora Alanakyan, deputy head of the Yerevan office of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), Garnik Hovhannisyan, director of the Agricultural Services Center of the RA Ministry of Economy, chief inspector of the veterinary department of the RA Food Safety Inspection Body Hovik Batikyan, poultry farmers, the RA Ministry of Economy, Representatives of CARD Foundation and SmartAgro CJSC.

During the workshop, information was presented about the Austrian Poultry Federation, the history of the poultry system in Austria, the bird identification and registration system, as well as the future opportunities for cooperation with Armenia.

The workshop was organized with the support of the Austrian Development Agency, within the framework of the national project for the animal identification and registration.

The project is implemented with the financing of the RA government by the “Center for Agricultural Services” SNCO. Financial and technical support for the project is provided by the Austrian Development Agency through the CARD Foundation.
